Things I think about on my bike......





The question I get asked the most from people is "how do you train for a cross country ride???"
Well, the answer is quite simple--- RIDE, RIDE, and RIDE some more.
Most riders you see on the roads in groups from the local club or bike shop, do rides of 30 to 40 miles. In the peak season this sometimes increases  to 50 or 60 miles on the weekends.
To complete a cross country ride, daily rides should be between 80 and 100 miles with longer rides on the weekends of 120-150 miles. The goal is to get your body used to many consecutive days of riding.
Although this sounds impossible, in my case it is the culmination of years and years of riding long distances now coming together to make these new challenges possible. Trust me it does not happen overnight, but I have found that the human body will do much more than we ask of it each day.
